EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Ankur School believes in all round development of the children and lays same stress on various extra and co-curricular activities as in academics. Throughout the year a well –planned calendar of EXTRA –CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES is implemented. Some of the major highlights are mentioned below.
Every year Mothers’ Day is celebrated by activities such as card making and
Independence Day is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm in the school premises with singing of patriotic songs, dance and inspirational speech by the students. In addition to that Ankur School participate in the central programme organised by the Panjab University in the campus Parade Ground where the students
take part in march past and sing patriotic songs. The Vice-Chancellor also presents awards to the students on the occasion.
Every year on 5th of September, Teacher’s Day is celebrated in the school. The students of the school organise various games and fun activities for the teachers. The students are also given the charge of the school to maintain discipline as a part of the training. To felicitate the teachers, a dinner is organised by the Managing Committee of the school.
Diwali is celebrated in the school by activities such as rangoli, diya and card making competitions.
In November Children’s Day is celebrated which is a weeklong activity. This consists of drawing , fancy dress, debate, quiz and other competitions which culminates in the last day to an Annual Fete in which stalls are put up by the teachers and students for games and food. A Raffle Draw is also organised on the occasion.
A major event in our calendar is the Annual Function . It is preceded by class wise function in which each and every child participate and the best items are selected and presented on the ANNUAL FUNCTION DAY in which the parents and members of the Management are invited. The year ends with a Christmas celebration in which carols are sung by the teachers and the students. The Santa Claus distributes sweets to the children.
Republic Day is celebrated centrally at the Panjab University Parade Ground in which the children participate in the march past and also sing patriotic songs and take part in cultural programme.
At the Annual Rose Festival of Panjab University , children participate in various competitions and put up games stalls along with the teachers.
GAMES ANS SPORTS:-
The school encourages children to take part in different games such as cricket, football, volleyball, badminton etc. The children participate in different sports throughout the year and also take part in inter school competitions in which they have excelled and have been awarded from time to time.
The school is divided into four houses viz: Aster, Daffodil, Orchid and Tulip . In- house competitions are also organised among the houses.
AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:-
In the ANNUAL DAY function several awards , [ Late (Sh. ) Beni Prasad Memorial Award, Late (Smt.) Maitreyi Sharma , Late (Smt.) Sheela Sobti and Late (Smt.) Sunita Sharma Memorial Awards ] are given to the meritorious students and achievers.
To encourage and in recognition of the children excelling in sports, the Management also awards cash prize to the winners of different games and competitions.
* The students of ANKUR SCHOOL in the very first year of CBSE
Class -X Board Examination 2014 achieved 100% pass percentage.
The same result is repeated in 2015 & 2016 also.
